South Florida Warehouses to Heat Up Due to Coronavirus?

Keith Larsen and Katherine Kallergis have an article on The Real Deal, A safe bet: South Florida’s industrial market could boom after pandemic, which highlights some of the reasons South Florida along with numerous areas of the country could see a boom in the need for warehouses and industrial real estate. Consumers, increasingly from older generations, will shift more of their spending to e-commerce. Three reasons they highlighted in the article:

  1. More manufacturers will come to the Americas from China.
  2. And after experiencing inventory shortages, more warehouses will be needed.
  3. Industry experts believe that e-commerce will take off due to coronavirus

All 3 reasons are similar to what we are hearing throughout the country is the upcoming increased need for warehouse space by a number of businesses. Along with e-commerce we could see more healthcare systems look to expand to stockpile PPE, along with an increase in the storage needs for consumer goods companies. For current industrial property owners this could be a valuable time to consider listing their warehouse for sale.
